I’ve finally completed the screencaps for Mitch’s DALLAS episode Trust Me. A ton of WTF here. First of all, Judith Ryland (Judith Light) was back and mommy’s pissed at sonny boy. Damn Emma (Emma Bell) for breaking Gramma out of the ‘old age home’. Next is the whole Nuevo Laredo spin with Harris and Judith. Who knew Mommy was a Cokehead? How about how she allowed the guy to frisk her in plain sight of her son? Then the wire Harris was wearing then the revelation to Bobby and Ann (Patrick Duffy and Brenda Strong) that he’s been working for the CIA regarding Ryland’s trucks carrying product from Mexico! Just when one thinks one thing is going on another just comes up and knocks one off their pins. The whole episode regarding the Rylands was just short of whiplash inducing. I know I’m still wearing the neck brace. And let’s not forget we got a shot of the still hot Pileggi Torso. I kept hastagging it during the live Twitter session but no one else joined in. I was hoping to get it trending. If you forgot what part I meant, screenshot of it below.

Someone has graciously uploaded a deleted scene from season two of DALLAS featuring Mitch. Here it is.

The official word came today, DALLAS has been renewed for a third season. The official word came after series star Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) tweeted:

Patrick Duffy ‏@therealpduffy 8h
OK all my tweet friends. It’s official. We are on for season 3. Do in large part to you all. Deepest thanks

This is good news for those who were hoping the show would be back. I’m hoping this means series Executive Producer Cynthia Cidre corrects her mistake at having Harris made such a heavy. While I know he’s supposed to be the town heavy, but I truly hope Cidre scales back on the amount of villainy. I think Ryland works better as a complicated baddie rather than an out-and-out mustache twirling villain. Read the official.

The Ewing clan will continue their TV dynasty.

TNT has picked up a third season of Dallas, with 15 episodes ordered for early next year.

“Dallas has built a passionately loyal following with its expertly woven storylines, clever twists and turns, and numerous outstanding performances by a cast that spans generations,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT. “Although we said goodbye to Larry Hagman and his iconic character J.R. Ewing this year, Dallas has many more stories left to tell, and the Ewing clan will continue to honor J.R.’s memory by keeping its audience surprised and delighted.”

Indeed, some wondered if Dallas would continue beyond the second season after Hagman passed away late last year. The season has averaged 3.8 million viewers per episode when including seven days of DVR playback, and 1.4 million adults 18-49.

Did anyone else shed a tear or six? I know I did. What an amazing send off for the iconic J.R. Ewing and for Larry Hagman. I was fine until the graveside scene with Sue Ellen where she confessed she’d always love him. Linda Gray did an exceptional job with that scene. Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) and Josh Henderson (John Ross Ewing) were standouts. I loved everything Josh did with John Ross and how controlled he was throughout the episode, but you could see how he just wanted to break down. Patrick? What’s to say except that last scene where he went into J.R.’s bedroom and poured that Bourbon and Branch then sat down on the end of the bed and cried…ugh! What an amazing send off!

Only one scene with Mitch last night, but the scene where Bum (Kevin Page) brought that box and had goodies for Bobby, John Ross and Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe) and implicating Harris in a lot of stuff, I thought, “Roh oh!” and did a Scooby Doo double take. I’m wondering though what all that might be. Are they setting Harris up to take the fall? I have a theory about who Harris’ father might be, but I might keep that to myself for a bit. And how about that car Mitch was driving? More about that in another post.

So sorry this post is late. I had a family issue crop up and it couldn’t be avoided. Also I had trouble with the clip. It just wasn’t working properly and likely still isn’t. My apologies. That being said, gosh that episode went quickly. I almost got whiplash with the amount of twists and turns particularly in how Ann (Brenda Strong) confessed to shooting Harris. Again, Judith Light as Harris’ mother was just just amazing. I love seeing this woman twist a scene and make it something else. I tweeted @EmmaBell17 about how cool it is to be Mitch Pileggi’s daughter. She said “Pretty friggin cool.” How cool is she? I was also glad Mitch and Larry Hagman (JR Ewing) were at least in the same scene together. Considering how much menace Morrissey brought to JR in that asylum it was good to see JR seeing what kind of a “menace” Harris Ryland is becoming to his family, particularly to baby brother Bobby (Patrick Duffy). All in all a great episode centred around our guy Mitch. I couldn’t be happier.
