I was able to get a hold of some final things to close out Mitch’s DALLAS section. The first is a promotional still with Mitch and the cast of the show, plus two stills from two episodes. This means this is the end of the DALLAS section. Unless something else comes up like a film to give an ending to the show or a two parter, then this is it. Sad to see the end of The Rylands. I adored Mitch and Judith Light (Judith Ryland) to bits. I really wish they’d done more with Emma (Emma Bell) but I guess there wasn’t much that could be done with her after what happened in Mexico. Ah well, here ya go.

I’ve added the final two episodes of the series to the gallery. These are episodes fourteen and fifteen. Sorry they’re late but I’ve had other projects I’ve been working on that needed my attention. I know there are some who are sad the series is done, however, the ratings were telling. After Larry Hagman (J.R. Ewing) died, the writing was on the wall. I wasn’t too happy either with the way Harris’ character was going. Too much back and forth and not enough bite to him. He suffered too many reversals to me to make the character viable in terms of any leverage he might have had over The Ewings. I really wish Cidre had a definitive plan for Harris outside of just being menacing. The other issue was the whole Mexican Cartel stuff. There wasn’t enough of the action happening in Dallas and not enough for me Harris Ryland at his job to prove why he was formidable. Mitch did his best with sadly bad writing. And I’m sorry I’m being so negative, but the truth is, I’m a bit saddened by the missed opportunity to capitalize on Mitch’s obvious talent and what he might have been able to bring to the show in light of Hagman’s death.

Final look at Mitch as Harrison Ryland.

I’ve Mitch’s last episode of DALLAS for you. Things are really heating up on the show. Loved with a capital L-O-V-E-D this episode. The interaction between all the cast members was really good. The standout though had to be Judith Light (Judith Ryland). Over the past thirty plus years I’ve been watching Judith perform on my screen, I’ve never failed to be in awe of what she brings to her roles. Whether that has been as Karen Wolek on the defunct soap opera One Life To Live or as Angela Bower on Who’s The Boss, as Elizabeth Donnelly on LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT, or as Jeanne White in The Ryan White Story, she has been one of those rarities that just keeps you held spellbound as she does her thang! Mitch as usual was more than good. Though I’m getting the feeling that Harris is not really on the up-and-up. There’s something that I saw when screencapping that makes me believe there’s more to him than meets the eye. Don’t ask me why, I just have that feeling. Here’s to the season finale on Monday night. Two hours, don’t forget.

My apologies for the lateness of these episodes, however, there have been some personal issues going on in my family that have taken precedent. My 90-year-old mother has been in and out of the hospital and I’ve been sick with a viral infection. I hope to have the last three episodes up in a more timely manner for you. So what do we think of the Rylands this time? I adore Judith Light as Mama Ryland. She’s a hoot to watch every time she’s on. Harris though had better watch his step, playing both ends against the middle with the Mexican cartel and the CIA. Watch your little ducky tail there Harris. And what can be said about Emma (Emma Bell)? Trying to play grown up while she’s still a kid. Hard going there girl. Quit trying to be your gramma. The featured photo is the final scene in the last show. The one of Judith and Harris seeing Emma and Ann (Brenda Strong) on the computer.
