Chris Carter Has Assembled His Writers Room For ‘The X-Files’ Season 11

‘X-Files’ creator Chris Carter has finalized his writers room for Season 11 of the show, which follows last year’s revival, Season 10. It seems fans are still loyal to the long-running sci-fi hit. And those fans should be happy because the writers room is composed of plenty of series vets.

Former producers Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan and James Wong are back. Each one wrote and directed an episode of Season Ten and Morgan’s “Mulder & Scully Meet the Were-Monster,” which was widely considered the best installment of the revival.

They will be joined by Gabe Rotter, a writer’s assistant from Season Nine, Benjamin Van Allen, a writer’s assistant on Season 10 and Brad Follmer, who served as Carter’s personal assistant during Season 8 and 9. It’s unclear how many of the ten episodes each will handle, but it is believed that Carter will once again tackle the premiere and finale.

Sadly, fan favorites Vince Gilligan and Frank Spotnitz will not be back, as they have moved on to bigger and better things. Gilligan created ‘Breaking Bad’ and will continue to oversee its spinoff ‘Better Call Saul’. Spotnitz created Amazon’s ‘The Man In The High Castle‘ and has now moved on to the Canadian miniseries ‘The Indian Detective’.

On the acting side, David Duchovny will return as Fox Mulder with Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully and Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner.

Previously, Fox president David Madden said in a statement:

Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators – these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why The X-Files has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide. Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files.”
