The official word came today, DALLAS has been renewed for a third season. The official word came after series star Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) tweeted:
Patrick Duffy @therealpduffy 8h
OK all my tweet friends. It’s official. We are on for season 3. Do in large part to you all. Deepest thanks
This is good news for those who were hoping the show would be back. I’m hoping this means series Executive Producer Cynthia Cidre corrects her mistake at having Harris made such a heavy. While I know he’s supposed to be the town heavy, but I truly hope Cidre scales back on the amount of villainy. I think Ryland works better as a complicated baddie rather than an out-and-out mustache twirling villain. Read the official.

The Ewing clan will continue their TV dynasty.
TNT has picked up a third season of Dallas, with 15 episodes ordered for early next year.
“Dallas has built a passionately loyal following with its expertly woven storylines, clever twists and turns, and numerous outstanding performances by a cast that spans generations,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT. “Although we said goodbye to Larry Hagman and his iconic character J.R. Ewing this year, Dallas has many more stories left to tell, and the Ewing clan will continue to honor J.R.’s memory by keeping its audience surprised and delighted.”
Indeed, some wondered if Dallas would continue beyond the second season after Hagman passed away late last year. The season has averaged 3.8 million viewers per episode when including seven days of DVR playback, and 1.4 million adults 18-49.
